Divemaster Certification Course

Your first step into professional-level scuba diving. Divemasters are respected dive professionals who lead others on guided dives and assist with diver training. This course involves a combination of dive theory, assisting students, assiting the diving team to prepare for dives, development of in-water skills, and open water diving.

Duration of course: 7 days

Requirements

  • Minimum age: 18
  • Minimum # of logged dives: 40 to begin the course and 60 to earn certification 
  • Must be in good physical condition
  • PADI Rescue Diver certification (or equivalent) 
  • PADI Emergency First Response Primary and Secondary Care (CPR and First Aid) training within the past 24 months 
  • A medical release statement signed by a physician within the past 12 months

  • PADI Divemaster Manual Recreational Dive Planner (all 3 versions - Table, Wheel and eRDP, including Instructions for Use booklets) 
  • The Encyclopedia of Recreational Diving Diving Knowledge Workbook 
  • Divemaster Slates 
  • PADI Divemaster Video
  • Instructor Guides for the programs that may be conducted by PADI Divemasters - You may purchase these guides from your PADI Dive Center/resort or you may download PDF versions from the PADI website  

Start Time: Varies from 6:20 am - 8 am.

Day 1: 8 am at the dive shop

Day 2 - 7: 6:20 am at Marina Fonatur

Includes:

  • Full attention of one of dive instructors and the dive staff
  • All academic sessions

Add-on Costs:

  • Marine Park fee - $2 per day

Cancellations:

 Cancellation of all scuba courses must be made at least 14 hours prior to the scheduled start time. Otherwise, you will be charged in full for the course.
